Add a click-to-call button to Squarespace

Give visitors a 'Call us' button on every page of your site by pasting one snippet into Code Injection. No plugins to hunt for, no phone numbers to rent — browser-to-browser voice plus an AI receptionist that answers your callers 24/7.

TL;DR: Squarespace doesn't use plugins — it uses Code Injection. To add WebCallHub site-wide, open Settings → Advanced → Code Injection, paste one <script> tag into the Footer field, then click Save. One honest caveat: site-wide Code Injection requires a Business plan or higher (not the Personal plan) — on Personal you can still add it to a single page with a Code Block. The async script is under 30KB so it won't hurt your site speed, and it works on both 7.0 and 7.1 and every template. See the full WebCallHub pricing or try the live demos.

Add click-to-call to Squarespace in 5 steps

This is the standard site-wide method using Code Injection. It works on every template across Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1. Total time: about 5 minutes.

1. Get your WebCallHub snippet

Sign up free at webcallhub.com and copy your one-line embed snippet from the dashboard. It's a single <script> tag that already contains your unique siteId.

<script src="https://app.webcallhub.com/embed/widget.js" data-site-id="YOUR_SITE_ID" async></script>

2. Open Squarespace Settings

Log in to your Squarespace site, open the main menu, and click Settings. (You'll need owner or admin permissions on the site.)

3. Go to Advanced → Code Injection

From Settings, choose Advanced, then Code Injection. You'll see a Header and a Footer box. Note: Code Injection is only available on the Business plan and higher — it's not unlocked on the Personal plan.

4. Paste the snippet into the Footer field

Paste your WebCallHub <script> tag into the Footer box. The Footer field injects right before </body> on every page, which keeps the widget out of the critical render path.

<script src="https://app.webcallhub.com/embed/widget.js" data-site-id="YOUR_SITE_ID" async></script>

5. Save and test

Click Save, then open your live site in a new tab. The 'Call us' button appears bottom-right on every page. That's it — no template changes, no rebuild, no republish.

On the Personal plan? Use a Code Block

Add WebCallHub to a single page — no Business plan needed

Site-wide Code Injection requires the Business plan, but a Code Block is available on every Squarespace plan, including Personal. It only loads the button on the page you add it to — handy for a Contact or Support page:

  • Edit the page where you want the call button and click Add Block (the + icon).
  • Choose Code from the block menu to insert a Code Block.
  • Paste your WebCallHub <script> snippet into the block and confirm the type is set to HTML.
  • Click Apply, then Save the page.

The trade-off: the button only appears on pages where you've added a Code Block, rather than site-wide. For a global button on every page, upgrade to Business and use Code Injection instead.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Business plan to add WebCallHub to Squarespace?

For site-wide Code Injection, yes — Squarespace only unlocks Settings → Advanced → Code Injection on the Business plan and higher (it's not available on the Personal plan). If you're on Personal, you can still add WebCallHub to an individual page using a Code Block, which is available on every plan.

Will it slow down my Squarespace site?

No — the widget is a single async <script> under 30KB, served from our CDN and loaded after your page renders. It never blocks the page, so your Squarespace site speed and Core Web Vitals stay intact.

Does it work on Squarespace 7.1?

Yes — it works on both Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1 and on every template. The snippet goes into Code Injection (or a Code Block), which is template-independent, so there are no theme-specific conflicts.

Can the AI receptionist answer questions 24/7?

Yes — the AI receptionist answers common visitor questions like opening hours, pricing, or "do you take new clients?" instantly, around the clock, and hands off to a human agent for anything it can't resolve. Perfect for service businesses running on Squarespace.

Is it GDPR compliant?

Yes — WebCallHub is EU-hosted and GDPR-first. The widget respects your Squarespace cookie banner and only loads after the visitor accepts functional/marketing cookies, so it stays compliant out of the box.
